Objects supported by web3point8 committee
The web3point8 committee today confirmed that "Objects" will be one of the under pinning new technologies for web3point8. Unlike a widget, plug-in or external resource (i.e. RSS feed or YouTube video media stream), an object is a core black box style technology, complete with processing, which can be integrated in to any web3point8 system. In true open web style, development of Objects is an open format and standard (defined in XML) and any individual or company can deploy their own Objects for mass consumption. IBM and Apple are already rumoured to be looking in to adopting the new standard.
